Gita Devi
Goddess Songs (Songs of God)
My journey into yoga began at an early age, rooted in a passion for meditative dance, the quiet contemplation of the moving body in tune with the heartbeat, emotional expression, and profound breathing work. I have long been captivated by the freedom, space, and peace of mind that follows a focused, devotional asana practice. These profound experiences led me to delve deeper into yoga science and wisdom, sparking a passion for integrating ancient tools that serve as a guiding light toward our purest, most evolved state of consciousness. I truly bow to the knowledge that I will always be a student on this amazing, magical, and challenging journey; always learning. I hope to share with pure intention and honesty, tools that has made my journey a bit more brighter, joyful, calm, and close to balance, with the ultimate goal of contributing to a peaceful universal consciousness.

Journey
Carla was born and raised in Peru, where she studied gymnastics, dance, and visual arts. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication & Art Studies, and have always been drawn to Peruvian ancestral knowledge. After university, she moved to Spain to continue multidisciplinary studies in dance, photography and yoga. It was there that she completed her first two yoga teacher trainings, which marked the beginning of her spiritual journey, learning from a variety of yoga branches and inspiring teachers.
In 2012 she felt a strong inner calling through the practice of Dharma Yoga diving deep into this extraordinary healing science and philosophy of ancestral yoga wisdom. In 2014 she met master yogi Sri Dharma Mittra—a truly life-changing encounter. In 2016, she was relocated to NYC, where she started a very disciplined Sadhana by the lead of Sri Dharma’s teachings, completing both the 500-hour and 800-hour ‘Life of a Yogi’ teacher trainings. To this day, she founds strong inspiration from Sri Dharma and Hatha Raja Yoga linage, giving her dearly the initiation name of Gita (Songs of God)
With a background in contemporary/modern dance, she has a strong believe that movement can heal from the inner layers of our subtle bodies, merging organically with the roots of classical yoga practice, devotional – emotional expression, respectful awareness of divine laws, compassion, in her own practice. She will be forever grateful for all her teachers and students all along the way and very honored to share the practice from a place of service in the vision to support radiant health.
